Eye-Opening Numbers on Podcasts!

You've probably been hearing about and reading about
all of the advantages of having your own blog as a way to
drive tons of traffic to your site.

By effectively "blogging and pinging" you can literally climb
your way through the search engines overnight and
rake in alot of highly responsive visitors to your blog.

From a Virtual Real Estate standpoint, blogs are a no-brainer
way to attract gobs of web traffic to your site.

If you already have a blog and are trying to think of ways
to set yourself apart and create something unique, here's
a surefire way of doing it: Podcasts!

What are podcasts?

Audio messages that you post on your blog.

At first glance, you may think that podcasting is way over
your head and you would never be able to do it from a
"techie" standpoint.

But, they can be as simple as calling into an assigned
phone number that allows you to leave a voice mail which
is automatically assigned to your blog.

Once you finish recording the new "podcast" is posted to
your blog!

Or, you can also set it up through services like Skype where
you call in on your computer and just speak into the mic.

Check the numbers out on podcasting! I read this article
on Imedia Connection and couldn't believe the numbers
of people tuning in to podcasts!

(from the article):

"According to research group PEW
Internet & American Life Project, more than
22 million American adults own iPods or MP3
players and 29 percent of them have downloaded
podcasts from the web."

Did you get that?! Over 6 million people have downloaded
podcasts to their MP3 players or IPods!!!

Imagine having your own podcast on your blog talking about
your business, hobby, expertise, etc.!!

Imagine the traffic you could potentially tap into!!

Now, you might be sitting there thinking...... "so, if podcasting
is so great, why aint' I listening to your podcast right now?"

Fair question.

And my answer to that would be...."good question!"

With that many people listening to podcasts it only makes
sense that I start doing it.

You are going to start seeing alot more activity on this
blog. For one, in order for a blog to get the kind of
traffic that it has the potential to get, I need to be blogging
at a more rapid rate.

To start getting noticed by the search engines, I should be
posting to this blog 3-5 times a day.

Along with that I should be putting at least one podcast up
each day.

With that being said, start expecting more frequent posts
and a podcast to follow!
